Interview with Zappy (@ZappySus on X/Twitter)

Yumi / hololive TODAY:
For how long have you been following Kiara's music for?

Zappy:
Her music has always sort of been on my radar, but I guess it's better to say she didn't really get my attention until DO U. I went back and listened to more stuff then, and thought it was sort of neat, but I never really got VERY into it until Point of View came out, in 2023. So I guess the best answer is casually since Hinotori, semi-casually since DO U, and pretty hardcore since Point of View.

Yumi:
Very nice. Point of View is definitely a banger album. What's a favorite song from that album for you?

Zappy:
Sleep Talking. I think most people say one of the other new ones, but Sleep Talking uses her vocal range the best.

Yumi:
Interesting. Well, now that the album teaser for "Vogelfrei" is out, what are your thoughts so far? Which track(s) are you most excited for?

Zappy:
I'm a big fan of the four singles from after Point of View, so EGO has my attention the most, since it sounds the most like them. Manifest and Signs also sound like certified bangers. The others sound great as well, but those stand out the most to me.

Yumi:
What drew you to Manifest and Signs?

Zappy:
Manifest, from what we've heard sounds very upbeat, and what little we've seen about the lyrics are about reinvention, a thing that speaks to me. As for Signs... I don't know if she's put out a song where she tries to do what she does in the preview with the word "signs", and it sounds really amazing with her voice.

Yumi:
Well, for our last question - What do you personally find special about Kiara’s original music?

Zappy:
She hits a pitch that I would argue most people can't sing at without a lot of effort, basically effortlessly. Where you've got opera singers singing opera at that pitch, and she's casually singing pop songs at that pitch. Her karaoke is like that, and it carries over to her original songs. Her flexibility as well - Fire N Ice is an example where she at one point starts rapping and it still sounds amazing.

Interview with アリAri (ari.22 on Discord)

Yumi:
For how long have you been following Kiara's music for?

アリAri:
I've been a fan of Kiara's since a couple weeks after her debut so I've been following her music since her very first single "HINOTORI"!

Yumi:
Oh wow, that's definitely been a long time. What's your current favorite music of her?

アリAri:
My current favorite song of Kiara's is definitely "The Great Wanderer". But with the upcoming album, that can definitely change!

Yumi:
That's definitely a banger song for sure. But now that the album teaser for "Vogelfrei" is out, what are your thoughts so far? Which track(s) are you most excited for?

アリAri:
When watching the album teaser my immediate thought was "Oh wow! There are interlude songs? That's pretty cool" and then I got hit with that classic "Kiara Pop" sound which I love haha

The tracks I'm looking forward to the most are "EGO", "Signs", and "Blue & Gold". "EGO" because the music video teaser recently dropped and it made me extra excited to see the final result!

"Signs" because the vibe of the song is something I really enjoy.

and "Blue & Gold" because it's a ballad tributed to 2 of the Myth members :')

Yumi:
That'll do it. Kiara definitely has a wonderful hit when it comes to her original songs. What do you think Vogelfrei mean? In terms of the album as a whole

What sort of feelings do you get when you see the album? What sort of emotions and thoughts come to your mind

アリAri:
"Vogelfrei" can mean "free as a bird". So in Kiara's case, I think for this album maybe she's able to express herself more freely without restraint ♡

When seeing Kiara's upcoming album I feel elated because I'm thinking about being able to listen to new Kiara music!

Also excitement, because I know she'll be performing some (if not all) of the songs at her upcoming live concert "Drawn to Dawn" which I will be attending!

Yumi:
Drawn to Dawn indeed! It is quite fitting, for when the sun set, it creates a beautiful glowing orange atmosphere which is very Kiara-like. With that said, I have one last question for you - What do you personally find special about Kiara’s original music?

アリAri:
Very true, the phoenix truly shines bright like the sun ♡

I've been a fan of the Kpop music genre for almost 14yrs now. So when Kiara started to make music in her own version of that genre, "KiaraPop", I was extremely delighted!

I love many genres of music but that's definitely one of my favorites.

I do love the occassional outlier though, like "Fever Night" and "Retrospective" for example.

But her songs that have the "KiaraPop" sound are overall my favorite!

Yumi:
The KiaraPop will one day rules the world! :KiaraDance2: TakaTori is real

But anyhow, that's it for today! Thank you for letting me interview you! :KiaraLove:

アリAri:
Thank you for having me and for giving me a chance to fangirl over my kami-oshi's music! Auf Wiedersehen~!

Interview with Salubrious Beets (@SalubriousBeets on X/Twitter)

Yumi:
For how long have you been following Kiara's music for?

Salubrious Beets:
I first started watching her from debut, so I've been following her music from the start!

Yumi:
Wow, so you've been there since the beginning. What would you say is your favorite song of her currently?

Salubrious Beets:
Ahh, it's tough to pick one! I'm going to name two, for different reasons. Heart Challenger is my favorite to cheer along for live: the penlights waving, the chanting along, the towels spinning in the air, you really feel a part of the performance itself. Retrospective is my favorite to listen to and sing along to. The song and how she sings it is so full of emotion and feeling.

Yumi:
Both are a banger - and I'm glad to see another Retrospective enjoyer. Well, now that the album teaser for "Vogelfrei" is out, what are your thoughts so far? Which track(s) are you most excited for?

Salubrious Beets:
Saying all of them would be cheating, right? To pick one, I'm most looking forward to hearing Blue & Gold. Kiara loves Myth dearly, and I know Gura and Ame's departure affected her deeply. To hear her feelings distilled into a song dedicated to them, I think the song will be so beautiful and wonderful. I just know it's gonna make me cry, but that's one of the beautiful things about music, how it can bring forth your feelings.

Yumi:
I'm definitely excited to see Blue & Gold, knowing how much feelings she's put behind it. Speaking of, Kiara's music is one that can definitely bring out your emotions. Do you have a memories where you've listened to her song for the first time, and it bought out some sort of emotions?

Salubrious Beets:
Her song Love Rush made me tear up when I first heard it. It's a song that's basically a love letter to KFP, and lyrics are so filled with love for us, her fans. It made me think back on the years we've spent together as a community, all that she's done for us and the things we've done together. It makes me happy sappy thinking back on all the memories, and also to look forward to the good memories I know we'll all continue to create together!

Yumi:
Indeed. It's incredibly heartwarming when a song is made dedicated to you, the fans. With that being said, I have one last question for you - What do you personally find special about Kiara’s original music?

Salubrious Beets:
There's a couple special things to me about Kiara's original music. For one is her dancing. For almost every song she has a choreography accompanying it, each song not just music but also a visual performance. The kikkerikick from Hinotori, the press 4 of Chimera, the group choreography in Perfume, it's all a visual treat to accompany the music.

Another special thing to me is how she includes us in her music. She makes chant guides for how to cheer along for songs, dance challenges to dance along with her, and whenever she performs her songs she brings excitement and energy to the room.

Related to that, the last special thing to me is her passion for her original music. She loves singing. She loves dancing. She loves crafting music videos for her songs with her team. She loves designing new 3D outfits for those MVs. She loves sharing her music with us. She loves when we listen to her songs, sing her songs, cheer for her songs. All that love and enthusiasm for her music is infused into it.

Sorry to have kept you longer than expected! You asked questions which gave me a lot of thought, that I wanted to earnestly answer.

Yumi:
No no, thank you for allowing me to do this! It's been awesome interviewing you, and your responses showed just how much Kiara means to you. And I agree - from the MV, Choreography, Music, and the feelings you get when watching her songs is truly glowing!

Well that's it for today! Thank you for letting me interview you!

Interview with FrozenHoof (FrozenHoof on Discord)

Tom:
I’m curious, how long have you been following Kiara's music?

FrozenHoof:
Ever since her debut as a vtuber, her music compared to the rest of the cast has always been compelling to me (not that the others are bad, mind you, it’s just that Kiara's taste and perseverance is more in the known for me).

While Calli's style at the time was very rap centered and Ina's very chilly synth were a big up from my norm, Kiara's was more of my style: energetic, melodic and upbeat. Combined with great voices and choreo and it all just clicked for me.

To this day i still prioritize her music above the rest even if Above Below is my favorite holo music in a while.

Tom:
Now that the album teaser for "Vogelfrei" is out, what are your thoughts so far?

FrozenHoof:
It’s interesting, knowing that her push to be more K-Pop is well in the known if you follow her enough. It is a breath of fresh air and a different direction for her, one that im willing to give a try once the full album comes out.

What is best is that most of these songs work for live performances and I do hope that the next festivals and concerts, including Kiara’s, makes the songs from this EP shine more than most other singers.

Tom:
Which track(s) are you most excited for?

FrozenHoof:
My favorite, and the one most people are looking forward to, including myself, is Martyr, considering how raw it sounds just with the little snippet we got. Can’t wait for the metal remix of it.

Tom:
As a fan, what do you personally find special about Kiara’s original music?

FrozenHoof:
For me, and excuse me for repeating myself, is how different it sounds from what I’m used to. I like things like Coldplay and Pendulum so Kiara being there in the mix is like if I go from Britney Spears to Metallica in a single playlist. It’s weird, but I like that weirdness, if you catch my drift.

Lately I’ve been trying others styles of the same branch (ERB, Nerissa, etc.) so I gotta thank Kiara for making me try other Holo music that normally i wouldn’t even dare listen to.

And with that, we’d like to thank these KFP members for taking the time to share their thoughts and excitement with us ahead of “Vogelfrei”. Hearing their thoughts and perspectives reminds us just how deeply Kiara’s music resonates with fans around the world, each in their own personal way.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to spotlight voices from the community, and we hope these conversations added a little more anticipation as we all look forward to the album’s release really soon.

Thank you, as always, for reading, and stay tuned as we continue to highlight fans, creators, and stories from across the hololive community.
