“I’ll mainly choose flowers in colors that represent IRyS for the flower stand. If they’re in season and available, I’d also like to use irises, which symbolize IRyS, as an accent to decorate the arrangement…I believe that every flower suitable for a flower stand carries its own positive meaning.”
— Evan W., main organizer behind the project

Fans over at ||:💎 IRySanctuary, an IRyS-focused fan Discord server for Chinese IRyStocrats, organized a fan-funded flower stand to celebrate IRyS’s first solo concert, “HOPE ||: Beyond the Stars”, held at SGC HALL ARIAKE in Tokyo on October 6th.

A Journey That Continues to Give Hope

Five years into her journey at hololive, IRyS is surrounded by a wonderful community and the people she loves, and she continues to give hope to everyone around her.

For the IRyStocrats, that journey reached a long-awaited milestone on October 6th, when IRyS took to the stage at SGC HALL ARIAKE.

IRySanctuary has been supporting that journey for years. The group’s first large-scale project was the IRyS Birthday Ad Truck Project in 2023, followed by its very first flower stand at hololive Meet SUPER KARAOKE PARTY TAIPEI 2024 and another at hololive STAGE World Tour ’25 -Synchronize!- in Taipei. For her first solo concert, they set out to make this project even more special than before.

The Flower Stand for “HOPE ||: Beyond the Stars”

IRySanctuary met their funding goal quickly. The original plan was to send two flower stands, but due to venue restrictions, the team could only send one.

With only one stand allowed, they raised its budget from 16,000 NTD (~$509 USD) to 32,000 NTD (~$1,000 USD), allowing the team to go all out on the design without any worries.

According to Evan W., the arrangement was built around IRyS’s colors of red, purple, pink, blue, and white, representing both of IRyS’s angel and demon sides

Even a Small Part of Her Journey

For Evan, and for the IRyStocrats more broadly, this project was about more than flowers:

“Before I knew it, I found myself wanting to cheer her on and support her, hoping that I could be even a small part of the encouragement that helps her continue moving forward and reaching greater heights. There was a time when she cried on stream because of difficulties related to her work, and another period when she was struggling with throat problems. Seeing her go through those difficult times made me strongly want to support and cheer her on.”

Not familiar with IRyS? Consider checking her out! Who knows? Maybe she can be the devil on your shoulder, or the angel by your side...

Evan’s Guide: How to Organize a Flower Stand

For fans interested in organizing a flower stand of their own, Evan shared his personal experience putting one together:

“Before I got into hololive, I had absolutely no experience with flower stands, not even giving someone a bouquet. So, in order to make a fan support flower stand project a success, there are quite a few things to prepare.

First, you need to apply for permission to have a flower stand at the concert and decide how many stands you want to send. Be sure to read all of the guidelines and instructions carefully!

After submitting the application, I asked other fans who had experience with flower stands for advice, such as which florists they would recommend, how to make the character illustration boards for the stand, and other details.

If you’re doing this for the first time, I recommend starting by looking for florists in the city where the concert is being held and checking which ones offer fan support flower stand services.

Then, take a look at the different flower stand designs and arrangements that the florist offers and see if there are any styles you particularly like. From there, you can ask for a quotation and tell the florist your budget. They can then advise you on what can realistically be done within that budget, and you can adjust the design accordingly.

If you want to include an illustrated character board, you can commission an artist to draw it. Of course, you’ll also need to prepare a commission fee. You can discuss the details of the character and artwork directly with the artist. I recommend contacting an artist 2–3 months in advance so they have plenty of time to work on the illustration.

For the character board itself, we usually prepare the finished artwork ourselves and then provide it to the florist to be attached to the flower stand. This means we also need to find a printing shop to have the artwork printed.

Other decorations, such as balloons, are also usually prepared by us ourselves.

Once the flower stand is finished, we ask the florist to take photos and send them to us first so that we can make any final adjustments. This allows us to make sure the finished flower stand looks the way we originally envisioned it.”
